BEFORE YOU START

SOME ADVICE

This short guide and our video tutorial will explain how to take male body measurements in just 10-15 minutes, avoiding any mistakes.

  1. Before you start taking measurements, put on a light shirt or T-shirt and make sure to empty your trouser pockets;
  2. When measuring circumferences, it is important to keep the tape measure aligned horizontally, without it tilting or shifting. Make sure the tape measure fits snugly against your body without being too tight;
  3. Be careful to use the tape measure correctly, starting from the right end, a mistake that can happen more often than you think;
  4. Enter your exact measurements in your profile, without adding or subtracting centimeters. If you want a more or less tight fit, it will be our job to adapt the garment to your preferences;
  5. Except for Back Length, avoid using measurements from other garments that already fit you well. Use only the measurements that are relative to your body;
  6. Since the human body is not perfectly symmetrical, in some cases you will be asked to measure both limbs. This will ensure a more accurate and tailored fit.

LET'S START HERE

IN 12 SIMPLE STEPS

Here is the complete list of the 12 basic measurements and 5 body type indications that our tailors need. We invite you to read all the instructions carefully and, once ready, you can access the video tutorial via the button at the bottom of the page.

At the end of the video, you will have the opportunity to save your anatomical measurements, allowing us to begin making your new custom suit or shirt.

Measure your chest circumference by passing the tape measure under your armpits and over your nipples. Make sure the tape measure is aligned horizontally. Then relax your arms at your sides while breathing normally, so that you get a correct bust measurement.

CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE

Wrap the tape measure around your neck, just below your Adam's apple, keeping a light but not tight fit. Avoid craning your neck or lowering your chin; stay relaxed for an accurate measurement.

NECK CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure your shoulder width from the outermost point of your left shoulder (about where your sleeve seam will be) to the outermost point of your right shoulder. The tape measure does not need to be perfectly straight, but should follow the natural curve of your back, passing over the prominent bone beneath your collar bone.

SHOULDER WIDTH

Relax your arms and measure the length in two steps: start from where we left off measuring the shoulders, that is, the outermost point of the shoulder (approximately where the sleeve seam will be), and measure up to the elbow. Keep the tape measure in this position, then continue the measurement up to the wrist bone, following the side profile of the arm.

ARM LENGTH

Relax your arms and stretch them out to your sides. Then measure the circumference of both biceps at their widest point and enter only the larger of the two values.

BICEP CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure the circumference of both wrists just below the largest bone and enter the larger of the two values.

WRIST CIRCUMFERENCE

Tilt your head forward slightly. Place the tape measure on the largest bone at the back of your neck and measure up to the back of your crotch (about 1 cm below your buttocks). NB: Alternatively, you can measure a well-fitting jacket by measuring the center back seam, excluding the collar.

Back length

Relax and don't hold your breath (or your belly!). Measure around your belly button, making sure the tape measure is horizontal.

Stomach Circumference

Measure your waist circumference four fingers below your belly button, again avoiding holding your breath. Make sure the tape measure is aligned horizontally and that your pants do not interfere with the measurement.

Waist Circumference

Measure around your hips at their widest point, usually halfway up your buttocks, making sure the tape measure is perfectly horizontal.

PELVIS CIRCUMFERENCE

Measure from the top center of your thigh, at the crotch, down to the floor, following the natural line of your inside leg. Make sure the tape measure is snug against your body.

INSIDE LEG LENGTH

Measure the circumference of both thighs just below the crotch and enter the larger of the two values. Make sure the tape measure is aligned horizontally!
